Suzuki Philosophy
Dr. Shinichi Suzuki developed his music education method based on the belief that most people can learn to play an instrument. His methodology took inspiration from language learning, exploring the ways in which children can easily and naturally learn their native language. Because of this, the Suzuki method is also known as the mother tongue approach.
I have taught the traditional method since 1989 and the Suzuki method since 2000.
As I master both methods, I often mix them for each student's needs. The Suzuki method is fun and easy for children to start early, while the traditional method is suitable for students who need to master techniques and read music right away.
My students performed at the Arts Center Hilton Head
Annual performances at senior assistant living
With interesting Suzuki method, we could think any fun and smart way to help the student develop their techniques. I am helping her open her right arm elbow.
Breanna is practice for a professional ending.
We use fun words to help the student play and grasp the rhythm easily. This is the rhythm called:
Down Pony, Up Pony.
Even though a dot rhythm is not easy for a student to sing or play, I gave them remarkable words to make the rhythm so easy and fun.
Caleb and Breanna are performing duet: Bourree at the church
My student Evangeline plays all notes on A string while I play all notes on the E string, fun for them to play and meanwhile train her concentration and memory.
